Moon Kids Crew
This summer I lived in and out of New York City, in a vibrant corner of Brooklyn. The weather was brave and friends were all around. From a distance, I fell in love with a little family across a park. We celebrated our joint birthdays, which meant a lot to me. We witnessed a young girl become an artist with her courageous performance. As she twirled we cheered, we laughed and a hammock broke from the weight of our joy. Her sister caught me by the bay windows and gave me long hug. She observed that I longed for things I knew far away and needed to feel more in the moment.
We spent days at local coffee shops, letting the time past by reflecting about our work and of course our childhoods. At night, we took warm runs to prospect park talking the entire journey. The stars looked like old friends as they twinkled off the still pond. I closed my eyes to resemble the shutter of a camera, I wanted to remember this time of my life.
They reminded me that life is a consistency of productive practices but more so the experiences you have with your loved ones.
I wrote letters home to share the warmth of the summer time and the moments I would carry with me forever into the future.
